APPROACH
Four phases. You approve each one before the next begins.
Most engagements fail in the gap between deciding and doing. We run both, in a fixed order, with a decision point at the end of each phase. You can stop after any of them and still own everything produced so far.
Position
Before anything is designed we establish what problem is worth solving, for whom, and what the real constraint is.
WHAT HAPPENS
- Interviews with the people who own the outcome
- Review of what already exists
- Analysis of the market and the alternatives
- Identification of the actual binding constraint, which is rarely the one named in the brief
WHAT YOU GET
- A written position, with the reasoning exposed so you can disagree with it
- An explicit statement of what we would not build and why
- A recommendation on whether to proceed at all
Define
Scope, architecture, sequencing, cost and risk — resolved before anyone writes production code.
WHAT HAPPENS
- Product definition and user flows
- Technical architecture and technology selection
- Sequencing into releasable increments
- Costing and risk identification
WHAT YOU GET
- A specification and architecture you could hand to any competent team, including one that is not us
- A fixed scope and fixed price for the build
- A delivery schedule with named decision points
Build
A small senior team, producing working software every week.
WHAT HAPPENS
- Product and interface design
- Front-end and back-end engineering
- Infrastructure and integrations
- Continuous testing and code review
- Weekly demonstrations of software that actually runs
WHAT YOU GET
- Production software, deployed
- The complete source, documentation and credentials, transferred to you
- No dependency on us to keep it running
Prove
Instrument, launch, and measure against the position taken in phase one.
WHAT HAPPENS
- Analytics and event instrumentation
- Store submission and release management
- Technical search and answer-engine optimisation
- Measurement against the original position
WHAT YOU GET
- A product that is measured rather than assumed
- An honest assessment of where the original position held and where it did not
- A recommendation on what to do next
HOW WE ENGAGE
The commercial model, plainly stated.
Fixed scope, fixed price.
Each phase is quoted before it starts. You approve it, then we begin. There are no hourly rates and no scope creep — you know the cost before you commit.
Stop at any boundary.
You approve each phase before the next begins and can stop at any decision point. There is no pressure to continue and no penalty for stopping.
Advisory without a build.
Where the need is ongoing product decisions rather than a production engagement, retained advisory is available on the same terms: plain fees, defined scope.
No lock-in.
You hold the source, the infrastructure and the accounts throughout. We are replaceable by design, and we stay that way.
The process applies across all three services — whether you engage us for strategy alone, or carry through to design, engineering, and launch.
See the three ways we engageTell us what you are deciding.
The first conversation costs nothing and usually clarifies more than it commits. Send us the situation — where you are, what you are weighing, what is at stake — and we will tell you plainly whether we are the right people.
